Local Tourist Offices: Your partners on the ground

To dive deeper into exploring the region, we highly recommend checking in with the local tourist offices. They offer detailed maps, up-to-date trail conditions, and activity ideas depending on the season.

🌿 Practical tips for your outings

In Summer: Trails are well-marked and highly accessible in the morning. Pack plenty of water and sunscreen, even when it is overcast at higher altitudes.

In Autumn: The light in the Vosges forests is magnificent. This is the perfect season for listening to the deer rutting and enjoying the rich colors of the ferns.

In Winter: Some trails may be snow-covered. Check in with the tourist offices and wear appropriate footwear. Snowshoes are available for rent in Gérardmer and La Bresse.

In Spring: The waterfalls are at their most spectacular and the forests are just starting to turn green again. An ideal season for hikers who appreciate cooler weather.
